The Postdoctoral program of the School of Computer Sciences aims at developing formal instances of connection among researchers from the School and professor-researchers from other local or foreign Universities and/or Laboratories, Centres and Institutes of Research. The idea is that these connections enable and boost the existing research lines of the three units of R+D+I of the School (III-LIDI, LIFIA and LINTI), and also create new research lines and/or projects with groups from other universities.
The Postdoctoral program of the School of Computer Sciences (according to informal experience on this field) has two levels of activities:
- A Postdoctoral Stage (PS): development of a Research Project in one of the three R+D+I units of the School.
- A Postdoctoral cycle (PC): development of the PS and a specific course.
The Postdoctoral Stages have a 6–12-month length and they should include the Research Project with an R+D+I activity accepted by the School and carried out in one of the R+D+I units (III-LIDI, LIFIA or LINTI). A qualified researcher from the chosen unit should support and direct the stages.
Postdoctoral Cycles have a 6-18-month length and they should include a Postdoctoral Stage and a certain number of valid courses for the Doctorate in Computer Sciences given by our School. The activities should be completed during the period the PC defines, and they grant a minimum of 12 credits, as regards the evaluation of the Research and Postgraduate Board and approval of the HAC of the School.
